Happy Anniversary Hagane!

Well, Its been a year since it came to our home, so, here I am saying Happy Birthday to you Hagane! In my article My Own PS3 Hagane , I've introduced how I got a hold of the Playstation 3 Hagane. Now I'm gonna list the goodness that it had bring into our lives.

A good game machine
First and foremost, it plays every game that I put inside it with great stability, never would it suddenly restart or shuts down itself when I was playing it. All the graphics, the sounds that it produces are crystal clear and crisp. Although, when I started to play Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix, my hagane started having problem, I think its due to the online net code of the game itself, my hagane would suddenly restart itself should it disconnect from an online play. And this disconnection tends to happen occasionally, automatically. But, luckily for me, it only happens with that specific game only, and not any other games. Other than that, my hagane runs smoothly and effectively all year round.

Starcraft Archive

The Starcraft Archive: An Anthology (Starcraft) The Starcraft Archive: An Anthology by Jeff Grubb

My rating: 5 of 5 stars I have to say that this book totally opens my mind to the universe that is starcraft. I have been playing the game since a long time. Now, reading the book page by page sets me on a journey I felt comfortable with. Each character, each item defined in each chapter is like fragments of memory in my mind brought to life. It was like a journey home. Now, when I played the game again, I focused on detail. Before this, for me it was just like highlighting a group of marine and target them to attack the enemy, now, I felt some connection to them, I started to wonder how they felt, how they were brought here, where did they come from... each unit, an individual. That truly defines "gaming from the heart" for me. View all my reviews >>

Toastmaster: Ice Breaker

I have been appointed my first task as a toastmaster - The Ice Breaker in which the objectives of the speech is to:
- Introduce me in speaking in front of an audience.
- To detect my strengh and weakness
- To tell something about myself

I read from somewhere that usually the Ice Breaker speech should be divided into 3 parts. And those parts are:
The Opening
One should start with an attention grabbing line, such as "well, here I am, just joined the club, I'm the one sitting quitely at the back, seldomly initiated a conversation and never joined on the table topics"

The Body
Share about 3 pr 4 points to discuss. About your school, your upbringing, your passion, your hobby, your interest, your career. But try not to get carried away and try not to give too much detailed information. And finally, wrapped the body up with a clever line.

The Conclusion
This can be a line you memorized or a quote from famous figures, example such as, "Set your goal to the star, as you'll might land on the mountains"

Notes and Tips
Try to show pictures, share your dream, engage the audience like you are story telling, make them want to listen more and also, try to practice your speech once or twice in front of families, close friends or just out loud if you're alone, it will help you gain confidence. And finally, try not to use notes, but if you must, try not to look at it too much and connect with the audience with gestures, eye contact and a firm control of the volume of your voice. Most importantly, have fun while you're at it.

After you have completed your ice breaker speech, you will gain a brick in the wall of public speaking. Now, you are ready for the table topics!
