Ericsson "Free Laptop" Hoax

This is regarding an email I received yesterday. This is actually a 7~year~old~hoax and the word "computer laptops" has been added to reel in more suckers. In the first version of this email hoax, the message that the user intent to send to 8 of his/her friends should be forwarded to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  , then, in the updated one, it should be forwarded to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Recently, this "updated" hoax has been floating around since May 2007, it seems that its getting itself back into the email chains. Let's bust this hoax shall we? The ever so popular email would mainly contains the following:

Fwd: FREE Laptops!...

The Ericsson Company is distributing free computer Lap-tops in an attempt to match Nokia that has already done so. Ericsson hopes to increase its popularity this way. For this reason, they are giving away the new WAP laptops. All you need to do to qualify is to send this mail to 8 people you know. Within 2 weeks, you will receive EricssonT18. But if you can send it to 20 people or more, you will receive Ericsson R320.

How High is a 2001 comedy film starring Method Man and Redman. It was a feature film debut from director Jesse Dylan, and was written by Dustin Lee Abraham. Entertainment Weekly rated it 3rd in their "Best Stoner Movie" top ten list.

Fatal Error: Could not find de_vegas.wad

I had sometime to kill yesterday, so I decided to play counter strike online. While browsing over the servers to join, I encountered a server with the map FY_Iceworld so decided to join in. I double clicked on the server name and then the game begins to load. To my surprise, suddenly the game crashed and out came the error "fatal error: could not find de_vegas.wad". So I googled around and found some help about this error. And I hope it will also help other people that also experiences this problem.

Error when adding search provider for IE 7 solution

Have you ever tried to install a search provider for Internet Explorer 7 and got this error "Internet Explorer could not install this search provider" ? Frown
Well, I also encountered this problem and managed to solve it with the help of Uncle G (Google).  Cool

 

Symptom

When you attempt to add a Search Provider, the following error message may appear:

Internet Explorer could not install this search provider.

There was a problem with the search provider's information.

 Diablo 3 - Massive Scale Battle?

I was browsing through Gamespot when I found this news on the main page of the website. I will try to fill you in the details about the game with information I found all over the Internet.

After years of waiting, the fans of Blizzards' greatest RPG of all time can finally rejoice as Blizzard has officially reveals this third installment of the franchise in a Worldwide Invitational event.

This event (opened to the public) was held in Paris, inside the Porte de Versailles Exposition Center. Many fans were eager to get their hands on time with Starcraft II and the World of Warcraft, Wrath Of The Lich King expansion.

Currently Diablo 3 is being developed for PC and Mac only (for now). Targetted to being able to run on a broad set of system, rather than just high-end hardware (though having a high-end hardware does make it a little more enjoyable to play I think)

In the launch, audience are shown the official trailer of the game. After the trailer, Jay Wilson, lead designer of the game got on stage and orchestrated the demo for the audience. In the demo, the audience are presented with two types of character
