Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix

 SFHD PSN
Its about Hadouken time....

After much speculation and debate going on, the Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix is finally going to come to the PS3 (PSN) and X360 (XBL). The details of the launch are as follow:

Release Date: 25th November 2008 (PSN) , 26th November 2008 (XBL)
Price: USD 14.99
Trophies: Not at launch (might be for future update)
Online Play: Yes

More info on the game:
Ryu, the former Street Fighter Champion after defeating the Grandmaster Sagat, spent years honing his skills when a mysterious evil fighter (M.Bison) sponsored the second Street Fighter contest. Ryu, sought to prove that he is still the best in the world, decided to participate in the battle.

So, to put it periodically, Street Fighter II comes after Street Fighter 1, but before Street Fighter IV. This is because Street Fighter IV is after Street Fighter II and before Street Fighter III.

The game is also spotted to run on 1080P (full hd). This new street fighter (SF HD Remix) will feature characters design by UDON, (the company that draws the comic for Street Fighter). A comparison from the old character and the new one can be seen below (will link to Street Fighter Wiki). Although, for those old school at heart, you can change the sprite to that of the old game. So, please feel free to reminisce yourself. Smile

The game can also be played online whereas you can kick somebody's rear side from across the globe. The online part of the game allows you to use a Bluetooth headset for voice chat, 8 player tournament mode, Worlwide rankings and leaderboard arranged by character and country. There is also a "Quarter Match" mode that simulated the arcade environment in which when somebody challenges you online, you'll receive the word like "here comes a new challenger!". The beta release of the game was a few month back and the feedback received from the beta players were astounding. Some claimed that the online play is so smooth that it feels like fighting somebody who are next to you. There are some however that claims the online play to be sluggish. Hence the online beta, so that capcom can do what necessary to avoid the situation from ever occuring again

About the music in the game. both the remix and classic music will be available. A fan based website (Overclocked Remix) were chosen to handle the remixed soundtrack for SFII HD

Fans can also download the game's soundtrack for free exclusive to the Playstation Network.

Capcom and Playstation website kept repeating about how they also have a "little" Street Fighter surprise coming later this holiday season. I'm guessing its Santa as a secret character. But, then again, I could be wrong, it could be the demo for Street Fighter IV. We can all just wait and see. Anyway, I've decided to topup my US psn account to be able to get my hands on the game seconds after its release.

Trivia:
The Street Fighter 2 franchise won several world records from Guiness. These records are "First Fighting Game to Use Combos, "Most Cloned Fighting Game" and "Biggest Selling Coin Operated Fighting Game"
